Chick Watch

At lunch today Mrs Timmis and I received a special delivery into school.

We now have a variety of 45 eggs incubating which hopefully in a couple of weeks will hatch into chicks. We plan to set up a web cam so that you will be able to watch the chicks during the evening and weekend.

On Monday (26th) Mrs Timmis and I had to candle the eggs.  We used a special light to look inside the eggs and see if a chick has begun to grow.  We have 30 eggs that we hope will be hatching next week.

It appears we have had a special egg arrive in our incubator

  1. wow! that is amazing I am excited to see the pictures of the chicks.
I hope it hatches peacefully. They’re gonna be sooooo cute !!!! 🙂

  2. I cant believe we actually have chicken eggs in our school. Earlier me and some other people went down to the incubator and 2 had already been hatched. Later on that day we went down again and one was hatching, there was a note on the side with a I pod there and the note said if any eggs are hatching please take a video. We saw a egg hatching a bit later on and we started to film it. It was amazing. Now there are 3 chickens that have hatched.

  3. I love doing work listening to these cheeky chaps chirping! They have won our hearts completely and a big THANK YOU to all those who carefully looked after them and made sure the incubator was working.
